Kyrenia/Girne

Visit Kyrenia on the north coast facing Turkey. This busy shopping and commercial centre is clustered around a working port. Take a boat trip, go diving or just relax and enjoy the sunset from one of the harbour side restaurants. Kyrenia Castle is home to the Shipwreck Museum where you can examine the trading vessel dating from 300BC, and see photos of the delicate salvage operation.

Mountain treks and wild flower walks can be booked here in Kyrenia. Look down on Kyrenia from the mountain village of Bellapais immortalized by Lawrence Durrell in “The bitter lemons of Cyprus”. See the impressive monastry.  25 minutes from Bacheli and 1 hour from Bogaz.

The Karpaz

Karpaz Peninsular

Looking for a holiday with sun and sandcastles, golf, walking in mountains and visiting fascinating historical sites? Beautiful North Cyprus has it all. The Karpaz peninsular (the pan handle of Cyprus) is where you find the best beaches in Cyprus. Nangomi Bay and Cape Apostolos Andreas provide unspoilt swathes of golden sand and dunes with no hotels in sight. However these beaches provide only minimal facilities. Along the sweep of Famagusta Bay you can find many hotel beaches where you can while away the hours for the price of your refreshments, there are boats and jetskis for hire for entertainment.

High up in the Karpaz visit the Monastery of Apostolos Andreas, the site of many attested miracles. Take a tour guided by one of the caretakers – no charge, but your contribution to the buildings upkeep will always be appreciated. Bogaz and Bacheli 1 hour plus away.
